This was a film created with a group for Olivet Nazarene University's Film Club's first annual horror film competition. It was filmed on 2 different cell phones. When compared to my works from 2019, this one is rough and not as well done, which shows how much I have grown in less than a year. I was one of the cameramen and the editor. One of the most challenging parts of this film was the crazy amount of background noise we had captured during filming. I realized that removing it would degrade the audio quality too much and take a lot of time. Instead, I took what I learned from Film Studies and used the background noise to the film's advantage. I used the background noise in many shots as a method to create horror drones, which were then coupled with other sounds to increase the effect. This is most easily heard with headphones. I spent a good portion of time looking for the right music to create the feeling we desired. I also recorded my own audio clips to edit in for various effects. My personal favorite is the screeching door in the second laundry scene.
This film won the competition. Afterwards, I was asked to be the Vice President of the Film Club for the rest of the academic year, which I accepted.
